SO 1: Strengthening R&I in technological and economic fields of strength through CB cooperation of relevant stakeholders
Krepitev R&I zmogljivosti na področju pretvorbe in upravljanja z energijo v SI in AT / Stärkung der F&I-Kapazitäten im Bereich der Energieumwandlung und Energiemanagement in SI und AT
COMMON CHALLENGE strengthen R&I on the technological and economic areas of cross-border cooperation between relevant stakeholders. Activities tackle weaknesses identified in SWOT SI-AT on R&I; Heterogeneous levels of R&D and innovation intensity, R&D is concentrated in regional centres not reaching to periphery, R&D and innovation is supported in large enterprises and SMEs are lagging behind, Lack of industry and science cooperation, Low knowledge on SMEs scientific &technological skills
MAIN OVERAL OBJECTIVE: to link existing knowledge, skills and R&I capacity of businesses (Industry and SMEs), research institutions and stakeholders on perspective technology and research intensive field of ENERGY CONVERSION and MANAGEMENT. Identified focus areas are built on OBVIOUS technological and economic ADVANTAGES of CB areas aligned with partner’s competencies: 1 HIGH EFFICIENCY POWER CONVERTERS, 2 ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS, and 3 DEVICES AND SYSTEMS for IMPROVING ENERGY EFFICIENCY
MAIN OUTPUT Enhanced innovation capacity of SMEs with partners and target groups engagement to achieve the CB needed results: CB Identification study (Mapping&Trends,) 3CB Innovative case studies, 4 large CB events, SI and AT Stakeholder Reports, project web platform (EN, AT, SI). Results bring BENEFIT to all stakeholders, especially to CB regions itself and its improved capacity to develop advanced products
PLANNED APPROACH: UMFERI as scientific, FB and FH-Kärnten as educational institutions, are transferring knowledge to future scientists, craftsmen, entrepreneurs and form the project educational base. TECES as cluster with collaboration networks (Industry and SMEs), is familiar with innovation needs of SMEs and means to overcome the R&I fragmentation of CB
INNOVATIVE: Liability of partners to regional SMEs is encouraging all stakeholders of CB peripheral areas to surpass their limitations and get involved in CapaCon for the realization of high added value products&systems
