On 23 and 24 September 2020, the project partner Municipality of Idrija hosted a two-day workshop for steering group members and regional stakeholders. For the ninth time in a row, the European Cooperation Day is taking place under the auspices of the European Commission. Today, we presented the results and importance of cross-border cooperation projects in the cross-border area of Slovenian and Austrian Carinthia. At the same time as celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Interreg programmes, we planted two trees on each side of the border, in the spirit of sustainability and integration.
Wherever you might be, one thing is sure: you have a neighbour. Should it be your home, your workplace, there is always someone who you can turn to, talk to, who can lend you a helping hand. There is even more: in every connection, especially true for neighbourhood, you can always find the possibility to achieve something greater together. This thought defines our work in Interreg for 30 years.
The Interreg 30th anniversary campaign runs through 2020, with its main themes being a »Greener and climate neutral Europe«, »Youth« and »We all have a Neighbour«.

The impact of the COVID-19 coronavirus on project implementation is defined as force majeure. This creates a special, unavoidable situation for which specific measures are needed to support our beneficiaries. The Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Slovenia-Austria has therefore published initial guidance for bridging the problems projects in implementation face.
The current situation in which we are experiencing the spread of the COVID-19 virus requires a quick and, above all, flexible adaptation to the circumstances. For this reason, we have also adapted the work processes within the Managing Authority and the Joint Secretariat and adopted certain measures necessary for the successful continuation of the implementation of the programme and projects.
