EU PROJECT – MY PROJECT, Open Days 18 and 19 September 2015

phpThumb_generated_thumbnailjpgThere is not a single municipality in Slovenia that hasn’t received EU funding to co-finance at least one project. Have you discovered yours yet?
You might be one of the 65.000 people who have broadband access or maybe one of the 300.000 people with a better and safer drinking water supply thanks to European Cohesion Policy. Maybe you are able to take a shorter route to work thanks to new railway tracks, roads and motorway sections, or maybe cycling is made safer thanks to new cycling routes. Maybe your friend has a new job thanks to over 300.000 new jobs created or maybe your friend participated in one of the 800 research projects.

You can discover where European Cohesion Policy left its mark, generated results and left its footprints on Friday and Saturday 18 and 19 September 2015 throughout Slovenia. The event is organized by the Slovenian Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy in cooperation with the project partners.

In the frame of the Operational Programme Slovenia-Austria 2007-2013 the project GEOPARK will be presented on 19 September 2015 at the location in Mežica, Slovenia. More information on the event is available at the following link:GEOPARK.

With the event we will also celebrate the European Cooperation Day 2015, which is celebrated throughout Europe in the days around 21 September and has the aim to present the achievements of European territorial cooperation.

All events, that will be thematically painted in a wide variety of activities, are free and are intended for all age groups. As for specific activities a registration is required, all interested are invited to visit the site EU SKLADI and ensure their participation, or just browse through the content and locations of events.

Take advantage of a rich variety of events in several Slovenian towns and check what has been achieved with the European funds!

Slogan contest for the Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Slovenia-Austria in the period 2014-2020

Zajeta slikaThe Slogan contest’s goal is to encourage individuals inside and outside the eligible programme area to think about European Territorial Cooperation and especially the cross-border cooperation between Slovenia and Austria in the period 2014-2020 and create slogans on thoughts, associations, ideas, etc. connected to cooperation between those two countries.


You have time until 30 September 2015 to send us your proposals. In order to participate, all you have to do is to create a slogan and send it to the JTS e-mail address ( with the subject “Slogan contest”. The slogan has to contain the following:
– The length of the slogan may not exceed a maximum length of 60 characters including spaces.
– The slogan should be innovative and connected to the programme (cross-border cooperation).
– The slogan will be used in three languages (English, Slovenian and German), therefore, it has to be translatable.

The competition is open to everyone from the eligible programme area and outside from it, professional or amateur.

The competition rewards the best slogan received. The inventor will be invited to the kick-off meeting for the Cooperation Programme of cross-border cooperation between Slovenia and Austria which is foreseen in December 2015 where he or she will be introduced as the author of the slogan and receive a symbolic award. The winning slogan will be used in the frame of the new website design and for the promotion of the Cooperation Programme throughout the whole programme period 2014-2020.

Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Slovenia-Austria submitted to the European Commission

We would like to inform you that on 30 July 2015, the Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Slovenia-Austria for the programme period 2014-2020 was re-submitted to the European Commission (EC). The observations of the EC that the programme received in mid-June were carefully examined by both Member States and reasonably considered in the revised document. It is expected that the Cooperation Programme will be approved by the EC by the end of September. Afterwards, the programme will be opened and its call will be published by the end of the year 2015. For your information, please find attached the submitted Cooperation Programme. After the approval of the document, also the final version in all three languages (Slovene, German and English) will be published on the programme website. All further information will be available on our website in due time.

Notice to ISARR users

We would like to inform you that we have opened a new access point for accessing the application ISARR, which operates under the new system to support the functioning of cohesion policy. ISARR will now be available on the website: Through the above web address you will have access to the username and password that you use to access via the old site ( Access from the old website will still be possible, but you will be automatically routed to the module under online title A new way to access ISARR allows access from any operating system with a Web browser compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 7.0. This means that you can henceforth use the application easily from Windows 8 and later. IMPORTANT: The first time you log on to your web browser a warning that you didn’t install the root certificate will be displayed. Choose the option “Continue to this website (not recommended)”. If necessary, click again “Yes” and in the dialog window, enter your credentials. To avoid respective initial warning, you can install a root certificate of ISARR server, so that in the IE you click on the red colored box with the inscription “Certificate error” (in addition to the title bar, above). Then click on “View certificates” and click the “Install Certificate…”, then “Next”, select “Place all certificates and Following the store,” “Browse… “, select” Trusted Root Certification Authorities, “” Ok, “” Next “or” Yes “. After you install your digital certificate, you’ll get a notice of a successful installation.

Fourth edition of the “Europe in My Region” photo competition launched

Already for the fourth time, the European Commission (DG REGIO) launched the photo competition Europe in My Region that aims to highlight the excellent work that projects across Europe are doing with the help of EU funding, and explore what these projects mean to local communities. As in previous years, participants have to take a photo of an EU funded project and show evidence of EU funding on the photo. This year, the competition area includes, for the first time, IPA (pre-accession) countries. To enter the competition, take a photo of a project receiving EU funding you know or have seen, with the plaque or billboard with funding information and the EU flag somewhere in the picture. Then share your photo for a chance to win a trip for two to Brussels in October 2015. The deadline for submitting your entry is 28 August 2015. For further information see

Slogan contest for Interreg

In continuation of the branding process, INTERACT is now looking for an Interreg slogan to complement the logo. Not just Interreg programmes or projects, but all citizens of all ages from EU countries, candidate and potential candidate countries and neighbouring countries are invited to submit their original, catchy slogan. The winner of the slogan contest will be invited to the event »25 years of Interreg« which will take place on 15-16 September 2015 in Luxembourg to witness the live revelation of his or her slogan, interpreted and showcased by an artist. After a jury selection, public voting through Facebook between 1 and 31 July will decide who the winner is. The programme reached another D-Day

Today, the last projects finished with the implementation of project activities. In the frame of the OP SI-AT 2007-2013, there were altogether 89 projects approved, namely two strategic projectas and 87 projects in the frame of two Open Calls and one Public Call for Project Ideas. For those projects all available programme funds (64 mio EUR ERDF) were contracted. For more information on the projects click on the tab PROJECTS. However, even though the activities are now finished on the project level, a lot of administrative work still needs to be done on project and even more so on programme level to successfully close the programme period 2007-2013.

Visit of the Minister of Development, Strategic Projects and Cohesion, Alenka Smerkolj in Mežica

Today, on 25 March 2015, the Minister responsible for Development, Strategic projects and Cohesion, Alenka Smerkolj, visited the Meža valley (Mežiška dolina) and had a look at the results of two projects that have been co-financed in the frame of the cross-border cooperation programme between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Austria. The minister, among other things, stressed that the entrustment of the role of the Managing Authority, which will be in the period 2014-2020 for three cross-border cooperation programmes with the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy (GODC), represents the recognition of the past work and also means that the Government Office and its employees have the responsibility for the successful implementation of the programmes in the period 2014-2020. In the frame of the event, the results of the project GEOPARK and of the project ADVENTURE PETZEN/PECA were presented. Suzana Fajmut Štrucl, director of Podzemlje Pece d.o.o. and representative of the Lead Partner of the project GEOPARK and of a project partner in the frame of the project ADVENTURE PETZEN/PECA, said that both projects successfully completed the implementation of project activities and by using the approach of cross-border cooperation not only opened the borders for the project partners but also beyond the frame of the projects. The event was also attended by mayors of some municipalities that participate as partners in cross-border projects; Franc Jožef Smrtnik (municipality Železna Kapla/Eisenkappel), Gerhard Visočnik (municipality Suha/Neuhaus), Bernhard Sadovnik (municipality Globasnica/Globasnitz) and Dušan Krebel (municipality Mežica).
