On 18 June 2014, the workshop for beneficiaries on the information system ISARR and reporting of the Operational Programme Slovenia-Austria 2007-2013 was held in the premises of the Hotel Betnava in Maribor. The workshop was organized for the Slovenian and Austrian beneficiaries whose projects were approved within the Public Call for Project Ideas of the Operational Programme Slovenia-Austria 2007-2013.
Already for the third time, the European Commission (DG REGIO) launched the photo competition Europe in My Region that aims to highlight the excellent work that projects across Europe are doing with the help of EU funding, and explore what these projects mean to local communities. To take part, all you have to do is upload photos of a project clearly showing the billboard or plaque or poster, with the EU flag somewhere in the picture, showing that it has received EU funding. Then share your photos for a chance to win 1.000 EUR to spend on digital camera equipment and a trip for two to Brussels in October 2014. The deadline for submitting your entry is 25 August 2014. On 12 June 2014, the Operational Programme Slovenia-Austria 2007-2013 in the frame of the Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia, Management of Cross-border Programmes Division, received representatives of the Fiscal Policy Research Institute under the auspices of the Ministry of Finance of Thailand in Maribor, who are these days carrying out a study visit to the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Austria in connection to »Strategies for the Development of Future Industries: New Visions for Clustering in the ASEAN Economic Community«. Through visiting relevant public, academic and private institutions, it is their aim to exchange information and ideas on the development of future industries in the form of cross-national clusters and on appropriate policy guidelines. During the afternoon visit, the representatives of Thailand were introduced to the cross-border cooperation between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Austria in the frame of the programme and also to examples of some projects from the area of their interest. The visit took place in a pleasant atmosphere and was concluded with a short presentation of Maribor, where they went sight-seeing afterwards.
